Manatee Players Educational Outreach

For Elementary Schools Grades 3 - 5

Entering its 65th anniversary year, the national award-winning Manatee Players has been providing Manatee County with community theatre experiences of the highest quality. An aspect of Manatee Players' mission, education and community outreach, are equally as important as presenting 8 dazzling musical theatre productions in a Season running from August to May.

Tomato Plant Girl

To that end, Manatee Players is pleased to offer Tomato Plant Girl, which toured through county elementary schools during 2008 - 2009 and returns by popular demand. This allegorical play addresses the topic of peer bullying. Once-a-month performances are 40 minutes long and include a 'talk back' with the cast. Bookings are on a first request basis.

Nice Kids Finish First

Also available- Manatee Players comes into your classroom to present Nice Kids Finish First, which teaches the lost art of manners and proper social interaction. The creative dramatic exercises use tableau and improvisation to help students realize that being nice is both contagious and advantageous. Length of class will be adjusted to suit your school schedule.

Costs- Although Manatee Players offers its educational presentations free-of-charge, an honorarium presented to the theatre in order to offset travel, production and licensing costs would be appreciated.
